Quinta dos Machados – Nature, Love & Relax is located just over 25 kilometers from Lisbon, and is set in a 15-hectare site, where there are 29 rooms, two family houses and an unique area, considered protected historical heritage.
The rooms offer a tematic decoration related to relevant events in the area and to different states of mind. Despite the diversity, all the rooms result in an harmonious combination with contemporary and vintage traits.
The winter garden, which serves as a link between the forest and the restaurant, is one of the privileged areas, ideal for holding events in an unique environment, surrounded by the natural area.
Among the facilities that the hotel offers, the Spa, with a Turkish bath, sauna, jacuzzi and solarium are among the highlights. For the warmer days, the outdoor pool invites the guests to enjoy the sun and refreshing water by the grass. With 11 hectares, the forest is one of the ex-libris of the site as it is a treated area, ideal for hiking, cycling and for picnics.

Quinta dos Machados stands as an inclusive hotel and offers adapted services. The sensorial path, a complementary offer, was designed to be accessible to anyone. The existing routes allow the possibility of enjoyment and rides throughout the property, to all users, regardless of their motor or other conditions.
Sensory stations (staging points) were implemented in order to allow a set of different experiences, taking advantage of Nature and by exploiting the 5 senses of the human body: vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste.
The sensory path has always available an electric vehicle and a Joelette – a mono-wheel all-wheelchair designed for people with reduced mobility.
Quinta dos Machados is also the most recent Bike Hotel of the Western region, with routes and structures such as a bike reparation station and a storage area designed for two wheels´ lovers. Moreover, the Quinta stands out for being a dog friendly hotel that leaves no member of the family excluded from the best adventures.

“Cantinho dos Sabores” Restaurant, with chef António Amorim´s in charge, offers a traditional cuisine based on the use of regional and seasonal products. The space is open to internal and external guests.
In addition to the hotel´s offer, Quinta dos Machados is also a reference in the region of Greater Lisbon for those looking for a place to hold events, be it weddings, meetings, congresses or conferences. Even so, it is in the organization of weddings that the unit stands out. Recently renovated, the main event hall holds capacity for more than 250 people. The project of enlargement arose from the need to respond to events with a greater number of guests, which has grown exponentially.
Founded in the seventeenth century, by the Camarate family, the current Quinta dos Machados has in its genesis the commercialization of agricultural products. In 1755 it was acquired by the Machados family, that renamed the site to Quinta dos Machados. As a curious fact, the central par of the Quintawas occupied by the English during the French invasions.
