In Redondo, in the district of Évora, at the foothills of Serra d’Ossa, Herdade Água d’Alte works every day for a Premium Service and to understand the needs and wills of its guests and to provide them a stay that exceeds their expectations. That was the mission that the present owners took in hands when, in 2012, they decided to completely renovate Água d’Alte, which was part of Aldeia da Serra village until the 50’s of the 20th century.
Taking advantage of the beauty of its location and the greenery surroundings, this charming upscale rural tourism property is the right place for you to relax and be in touch with Mother Nature. You may also like to know that you’re only 30 minutes from the largest artificial dam in Europe, the Alqueva, that can offer you plenty of water activities. For wine lovers, very near from here Wine Tastings can be enjoyed in ones of the most representative Wineries of the Alentejo. If you prefer to stay in the property, don’t miss the outdoor pool, which is chlorine free, and heated in spring and autumn seasons, and offers you breathtaking views over the surrounding area. In Herdade Água d’Alte you’ll find that all details are cared for. There are two double bedrooms, two junior suites, three master suites and one Villa (T1), all on the ground floor with direct access to the outside, for more privacy. And all have their own terraces and views over the mountains and the state olive groves, where there are flocks of sheep grazing every day. In the “Xisto” House you’ll find dining and living room areas, with bar, TV, library and fireplace for the colder evenings. And there is also an open kitchen, where you can learn and practice the Alentejo recipes and enjoy some wine and food tastes.

During your stay don’t forget to take part of the Cooking classes, an opportunity to get to know other guests and to try the regional gastronomy. The estate also has Pottery lessons with the help of a master in this art, which is so important in this region, where the first clay artefacts are dated IV century B.C. And you can also go on a hot air balloon ride from the estate, which will take up to the Alentejo skies ending with a toast with sparling wine and Alentejo cheeses. Relax at the Wellness Place with a body massage with a fantastic country side view. Guests can be helped with road-books for their visits to the region that has a cultural and historic patrimony that is worthy of visiting, such as Évora, Vila Viçosa, Monsaraz and more then a dozen of medieval castles and Villages nearby. Less than one and half hour driving away from Lisbon, Água d’Alte is the perfect place for your rest. Apart from the fantastic sky and landscapes, the splendid Alentejo food and wines, and worm reception, here you can “hear the silence”, you can “feel” Nature, and you can reduce your hart-beats.
